Sold 40 items on Ebay the last 2 days. Some did very well and some received one or two bids and sold for only a dollar or two. In my view it is important to treat every sale, no matter how small, as if it was the most important sale I have. People who get bargains and are treated right become returning customers. I plan on listing some big ticket items on Ebay on tuesday evening February 22nd with opening bids of .99 cents. Good merchandise usually takes care of itself and sells for what it is worth. As an auctioneer for me a large part of the enjoyment of selling is having a real auction with a low opening bid and actually seeing what an item is worth.
Listed an Austria 100 carona gold coin and a 10 troy ounce silver bar on Ebay today with opening bids of .99 cents and no reserve. They are 7 day auctions. It will be interesting to see what they sell for.
Rented a storage locker to hold more consignments. Applied to get a merchant account so I can accept credit cards, and talked to the proxi-bid guy about getting an auctioneer account there. The gold carona coin is at $565.00 and the 10 ounce troy silver bar is at $162.00 on Ebay right now with 5 days to go. Today was day one of setting up the big March 12th auction. There is way more than listed or photographed. This is going to be a huge, great auction!
